Ubiquinol and CoQ10
- Ubiquinol is the “reduced” form of ubiquinone and the most active antioxidant form of CoQ10, responsible for the powerful benefits associated with the nutrient. The conversion process from ubiquinone to ubiquinol occurs naturally in the body. However, the process becomes less efficient with age.
- People over 40 and those suffering from conditions related to oxidative stress have difficulty converting it. Clinical studies show that, in seriously ill patients, ubiquinone supplements are barely detectable in the blood; whereas ubiquinol results in significant blood level increases and subsequent clinical improvements.
