Our Cinnamon Quills are premium sticks of cinnamon bark, carefully harvested and cured to preserve their natural fragrance, flavor, and longevity. Each quill is a slender, rolled piece of cinnamon with a warm, sweet-spicy aroma that elevates both sweet and savory dishes.
Size and appearance: Each quill is cut to approximately 1/4 inch in diameter, yielding a compact, easy-to-use stick. The surface is smooth with a subtle wood-like texture, and the color ranges from light to deep reddish-brown as the essential oils are concentrated in the bark.
Flavor profile: Bright citrus notes, with a classic cinnamon warmth and a gentle sweetness. When heated, the quill slowly releases aromatic oils that infuse dishes with a comforting, homey finish.
Common uses: Add to hot beverages like mulled wine, chai, hot chocolate, and coffee; flavor stews, curries, rice dishes, desserts, and baked goods; infuse syrups, compotes, and syrups for poaching fruit; and steep in milk or cream for custards and sauces.
How to use: Lightly crush or break the quill to release more flavor, then simmer in your liquid of choice for 10–20 minutes. Remove before serving, or leave in for a stronger infusion. For milder flavor, add at the start of cooking; for a bolder aroma, add toward the end of cooking or during steeping.
Storage tips: Keep quills in an airtight container away from light and heat. Stored properly, they retain flavor for several months and can be reused a few times in teas or syrups.
Packaging: Available in resealable pouches or standard retail packaging to maintain freshness and reduce clumping. Each batch is inspected for consistency in size and aroma.
Allergen information: Cinnamon is naturally gluten-free and dairy-free. This product is produced in facilities that handle other tree nuts and spices; always check packaging for cross-contamination notices.
